30-days training on "Folk Dance of Manipur" concludes

Jiribam, February 19 2025:
A 30 days training with production on "Folk Dance of Manipur" which kicked off on January 19 at Inunganbi Manipuri Dance Academy, Training Hall was concluded yesterday.
The programme held under the aegis of Chief Ministergi Arstiste Singgi Tengbang, 2023-24, was organised by the Department of Arts and Culture, Manipur in collaboration with Inunganbi Manipuri Dance Academy (IMADA).
The closing programme was attended by Kasturba Govt Girls High School, Jiribam, headmistress, Arambam Soroja Singha, Universal Friendship Organisation, Far West Manipur, chairman, Kolom Khumanjao Singh and IMADA, Dibong, Jiribam, president Dr Chandam Kamal Singh as presidium members.
As part of the programme, the dignitaries were presented with Shawl (Nam-phi) and the programme was inaugurated by the chief guest by lighting the candle.
Speaking at the event, Chandam Biren Singh, secretary of IMADA Jiribam, stated the 30-days training programme was organised jointly by IMADA and Department of Art and Culture under the aegis of Chief Ministergi Artiste Singgi Tengbang to promote Folk dance in Jiribam district and to impart training to the artist of Jiribam for better performances.
Altogether 20 trainees participated in the training programme and were given training by Guru Ch Mengoubi and Ng Ebungo on four folk dances- Phousa Jagoi, Phou oibi langol, Maibi Jagoi and Leima Jagoi.
