Imphal, May 18 2021: With a view to make up shortage of oxygen required for treatment of COVID patients in the State, Deputy Speaker K Robindro today donated 40 D type oxygen cylinders to the Chief Minister's COVID-19 Relief Fund.

Speaking to media persons after handing over the oxygen cylinders, Robindro said that the Chief Minister was working to obtain several oxygen concentrators from the Centre.

Health Director K Rajo said that the 40 D type oxygen cylinders donated by the Deputy Speaker would be quite helpful in the treatment of Covid patients.

He then appealed to all sections of the people to donate oxygen cylinders to the Health Directorate if they have any at their homes.

He also appealed to all concerned not to use existing oxygen cylinders, both empty and filled, for other purposes but only for treatment of Covid patients at hospitals, Covid care centres, CHCs, PHCs and district hospitals.
