Thoubal, July 08 2024: A joint team of Thoubal CDOs and column 37 Assam Rifles arrested two alleged active members of proscribed outfit, KCP (Taibanganba), while they were on their way to extort money from the public yesterday.

The arrested persons have been identified as Wangjam Mukesh Singh alias Koba (41), s/o W Babu Singh of Bishnupur Ward No 1 and Thokchom Ajit Singh alias Commander (33), s/o (L) Th Yaima Singh of Kakching Ningthou Leikai along NH-102 near Dhaka Brick Field.

The joint team seized 26 extortion/demand letters of KCP (Taibanganba) group, a Hyundai Xcent car and two mobile phones with sim cards.

A case has been registered at Khongjom police station under relevant sections.
