ADC Kamjong holds meeting with political parties in connection with SIR

Kamjong, September 06 2026:
A meeting with representatives of recognised national and state political parties, chaired by Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), 43-Phungyar AC(ST)/Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kamjong HL Jain, was held today at the camp office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kamjong located at 2nd MR complex.
The meeting was held in connection with the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 and the final publication of electoral roll and was attended by election officials and representatives of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Indian National Congress (INC) and Naga People's Front (NPF) among others.
Briefing the representatives of the political parties, ERO, 43-Phungyar AC(ST) HL Jain informed that the final electoral roll for Phungyar AC has been published with 32,579 electors including 16,319 male electors, 16,260 female electors and zero third gender elector.
He continued that 1,309 new electors were added to 31,705 electors in the draft electoral roll which was published on July 5 this year, whereas 472 electors were deleted from the same.
HL Jain expressed gratitude to the political parties for their continuous support during the process of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026.He appreciated the election officials, Block Level Officers and Block Level Agents for their concerted efforts and contribution towards successful completion of SIR process.
He stated that the main objective of SIR is to ensure every eligible elector gets enrolled in the voter list and no ineligible name is included, which is very necessary for a vibrant democracy.
Mentioning that political parties are the main stakeholders of the Indian electoral system, he sought their continuous support and cooperation in matters related to election in the State.
