Imphal, June 06 2021: AMMOCOC questioned whether NFSA card holders and those who linked their aadhaar cards to ration card are the only one facing hardship during the pandemic.

All Manipur Muslim Organisations' Coordinating Committee raised the question in a statement issued today and added that many issues has been happening at various places regarding the distribution of rations under NFSA and PMGKAY.

A similar issue was reported by some people from different locations in Kshetrigao AC to AMMOCOC.

The issue was followed up by the members of the committee and it was found that some agents of the local MLA had collected a copy of aadhaar and Rs 100 each from every beneficiaries to have their ration cards and aadhaar linked and it was also found that share of many beneficiaries were not given as they had failed to link their ration card and aadhaar.

AMMOCOC added in the statement that they will also look after the issue if any mistakes were made by agents, nominee, MLA and the concerned department and if there were any mistakes committed by them, the people cannot bear the hardships resulting from their mistakes.

The government should looked into the issues arising out from irregularities and discrepancies in ration under NFSA and PMGKAY distribution and take strict actions against anyone found not following the rules, added the statement.

AMMOCOC also appealed all the shopkeepers not to sale essential items at higher price and follow the rate fixed by the Government.
