Anish Ahamad runs solo marathon in Agartala

Manipuri environmental activist Anish Ahamad ran a solo marathon at Agartala today as part of "Make India Green Campaign" under the theme "Run for Green India, Green North East, Green Tripura, Save forest, Save wildlife" .
The solo marathon was organised by Tripura Forest Department under the supervision of Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and Head of Forest Force, KS Sethi and under the leadership of Jaya Krishan VK, DFO West Agartala, (IFS); Forest Ranger Jewel Deverma and Ranger Sumon Mitra Agartala.
The solo marathon was flagged off from Pandit Nehru Complex Gurkha Basti, Forest Head Office Tripura, traversed through many densely populated areas of the city, Khairpur Mandawl Forest Sub-Division and culminated at Champagnagar Forest Division.
Staff of Sadar Forest Division and Champagnagar Forest Division paid close attention to the environmental activist during his 48 km solo run along the Agartala National Highway-8 .
He was accorded a jubilant welcome upon reaching the destination at Champagnagar Forest Division.
It may be noted that Anish began disseminating information regarding the environment at Tripura from October 29 .
Notable personalities including District Magistrates and officials of Tripura Police lauded Anish for his relentless efforts to save the environment and the animals.
Previously, Anish undertook solo marathons at Shillong and Manipur (thrice) to spread his message of saving the environment
and animals.
