BJP MP president Th Chaoba handed over a sum of Rs 2000 while CPI, manipur State Unit donated grains and money to the begging mass, Hemabati informed the mass later went to Congress office.
FCS godown labourers, after their long service in the godown, were terminated by contractors when they demanded a raise in their wage.
The committee has demanded immediate agreement between the workers and Government.
It also demanded separate law for labourers.
All India Trade Union Congress manipur secretary L Sotinkumar said FCS godown labourers went on a strike on July 5 this year demanding increment of wages.
lamentating the events, he noted that the labourers and their families have been leading a miserable life.
The government had raised the wages of handling one quintal from Rs 6 to Rs 7.50.However, contractors held back the order denying the Government-fixed rate to the labourers.
This is most inhuman, added Sotinkumar.
The contractors terminated the labourers from service for demanding enhanced wages which have also been approved by the Government.
Sotinkumar further demanded immediate arrangements so that these labourers can return to work.
The contractors would have to face various forms of movement against their action in case the matter is not addressed at the earliest, he added.
CPI working women Forum Vice-president M Shakhi also spoke at the occasion.
