Picking out 12 Ministers from the among the 42 elected Congress candidates is becoming a challenging task for Ibobi, who is all set to be sworn in as the Chief Minister for the term consecutive term of the SPF government tomorrow.
But to strengthen his position and discourage his detractors, Ibobi is likely to include two Ministers from Thoubal, his home district and Imphal East, the home constituency of his arch rival Y Erabot.
According to highly placed source, the new Ministry would do away with the convention of appointing Ministers from each district.
Of the 12 members in the Council of Ministers including the Chief Minister, four Ministers, that is, two each are likely to be come from Naga and Kuki communities, another two Ministers each from Imphal East and Thoubal district and one each from Imphal West and Bishnupur district.
The remaining one would be reserved either for Minority community or women.
Ukhrul district is likely to draw black in the Council of Ministers this time, the source added.
The source further revealed that after swearing in as the Chief Minister, Ibobi would be leaving for Delhi either on March 15 or 16 to meet the Congress High Command for finalizing the Council of Ministers worked out by him.
