More to back common future rally

Many more civil society organisations, NGOs, political parties and local clubs have pledged unstinted support to the mass rally which would be taken out at Imphal on February 6 on the theme of securing a common future for all the indigenous communities of Manipur.
The International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) has declared that it would join the mass rally physically apart from extending financial and moral support.
It categorically stated that people of Manipur would never accept any political manoeuvre of the Government of India which is aimed at dividing indigenous people and disintegration of Manipur.
The Government of India should acknowledge the history of Manipur which is more than 2000 years old.
GoI should not commit the blunder of impinging upon the collective interest of the people of Manipur in their efforts to appease a single rebel group or a community, IPSA warned.
The Indigenous People's Association of Kangleipak (IPAK) has also assured full support to the mass rally being organised by AMUCO, UCM and CCSK on February 6 .
Pointing out that the political boundary of Manipur was drawn with blood and sweat by the forefathers of the present Manipuri generation, IPAK asserted that it is the duty of the present generation to safeguard the territorial integrity and hand over a united Manipur to the future generations.
Apart from gifting away Kabow Valley to neighbouring Myanmar without the consent of the people of Manipur in the aftermath of Manipur's controversial merger into the Indian Union, Manipur's territory has been shrinking steadily.
Stating that the scheduled mass rally is the call of the hour, IPAK informed members of all its branch offices to arrive at THAU Ground, Thangmeiband at 9 am of February 6 .
Aam Admi Party Manipur and CPI Manipur State Council too have declared that it would take part in the February 6 mass rally.
Informing that they would support and take part in the rally, the Young Women Help Organisation (YWHO) asserted that the mass rally should serve as a common platform for forging hill-valley unity and also for heralding uniform development.
The YWHO further appealed to all concerned not to call bandh, blockade or general strike on February 6 .
The South East Asia Cultural Organisation (SEACO) has stated that it would take part in the mass rally in the interest of the State's common future.
Rather than calling bandhs, all the people ought to support the mass rally which is being taken out on the theme of securing a common future for all the indigenous people of Manipur irrespective of religion, community, ethnicity or topography, SEACO asserted.
Kanglei Chanu Kanba Lup, Thongju Kendra United Clubs' Association, the Khagee Club Kyamgei, the Young Development Organisation Sagolband Tera Lukram Leirak and the Kuraomakhong United Club, Sagolband Sayang Kuraomakhong too have pledged support to the
February 6 rally.
