Chandel, December 27 2021: Kuki Chief's Association (KCA) Khengjoi Sub-Division has appealed to the Government to repair the road stretch from New Songjang to Gamphajol (Chamol to New Samtal BRTF road) constructed under PMGSY and warned to boycott ruling party if their demands are not fulfilled at the earliest.

A team of KCA Khengjoi Sub-Division, chiefs and media persons also inspected the condition of the said road constructed under PMGSY.

Speaking to media persons after the inspection, KCA Khengjoi Sub-Division spokesperson and New Songjang Village chief, Thangjamang Haokip stated that out of the three parts under PMGSY Package No MN02149 Phase-Xl BRTF road to Gamphajol, the 12 Km long stretch of Part-l which was constructed in March-April 2021 has already deteriorated with cracks at various places.

While expressing his disappointment over the sub-standard & poor quality construction of the said road, Thangjamang Haokip alleged that the contractor has defied all norms and failed to comply with the guidelines causing all sorts of problems to the people of Khengjoi Sub-Division.

He also urged the Government to inspect the condition of the road and repair it before the onset of monsoon season and upcoming Assembly election.

Many village chiefs/headman including Piter Yamthang Haokip of Molpibung; Mangjangam Haokip of Gamphajol; and M Shongkhopao Haokip of K Savumpa also expressed their resentment over the deplorable condition of the road.

Meanwhile, KSO Khengjoi Block president, Kakai Haokip condemned the sub-standard construction of the road and assured to support KCA in all its future endeavors.
