IMC to take action against illegal constructions in Ngari Gali

Imphal, May 27 2024: Hijam Nutanchandra, Caretaker Corporator of Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) has announced that a committee will be formed soon to take necessary actions against illegal construction of shops in Ngari Gali and selling of second hand items above Naga Nala.

Addressing a press conference today at IMC Office, Hijam Nutanchandra said that the IMC has received information about construction of shops in Ngari Gali and selling of second hand items above Naga Nala without proper authorisation & permission of the IMC.

He clarified that the current Caretaker Corporators of IMC have no connection whatsoever with these illegal activities and a committee will be set up soon to investigate the matter at the earliest.

Nutanchandra further appealed to the Chief Minister and MAHUD Minister to look into the matter and take immediate steps to remove the illegally constructed shops and evict the people selling goods/ products without proper permit/authorization.
