Thoubal, December 20 2024: With the objective of improving the irrigation system and for the well being of the people, a mini Dam constructed over Itok river which passes through Phanjakhong village was inaugurated today.

The mini Dam constructed under MGNREGA was inaugurated by Salam Kumar, chairperson of Leirongthel-Ningel Gram Panchayat.

Speaking on the occasion, Salam Kumar, chairperson stated that the mini Dam constructed over the Itok river which passes through ward no 9 and 10 of Phanjakhong and Chandrakhong village was included under MGNREGA work programme by the Chairperson and Ward member to provide benefits to the people for utility purposes.

He further appeals to the people to extend support when any developmental work is being taken up by the Government or the Panchayat.
