Awareness programme on PMMSY, FIDF and LIFIC held

Kakching, February 18 2025: A one-day District Level awareness programme on Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojna (PMMSY), Fisheries arid Aquaculture Infrastructure Development Fund (FIDF) and LIFIC was held today at the auditorium hall of Library and Information Centre, Kakching.

The event jointly organised by NCDC, LINAC and RTC Guwahati was attended by W Ibohal, MCS, RCS, Govt of Manipur, K Dilipkumar, District Cooperative Officer, Kakching district, K Dineshwar, DFO Kakching and Thoubal, Sapam Jiten, DFO Fishery Department, Govt of Manipur and Jagadeshwar Rao S, Deputy Director, NCDC, RO Guwahati as presidium members.

At the event, Sapam Jiten, DFO Fishery Department, Govt of Manipur stressed on the role of the department of fisheries in the development of fisheries sector in the State of Manipur, PMMSY scheme and awareness on implementation of financial assistance through schemes like FFPO, FIDF and PMMKSSY.

Jagadeshwar Rao S, Deputy Director, NCDC, RO Guwahati stressed on the role of NCDC in development of fisheries cooperative across the country.

He also highlighted the awareness of LINAC-fish-eries business incubation centre, its significance, application procedure and benefits.

The event was attended by around 300 fishermen from across Kakching district along with staff of the Fishery Department.

A similar programme was also conducted at Bishnupur district on February 17 .
