Imphal, October 15 2024:
The exclusion of Meitei Pangal MLAs from the talk on Manipuri crisis held in Delhi is very unfortunate, said the All Manipur Muslim Organisations Coordinating Committee (AMMOCOC) .
The talk initiated by the Union Home Ministry reportedly took place in Delhi today.
Personal invitations for the talk were sent to MLAs and Ministers of Manipur belonging to the Meitei, Kuki and Naga communities.
At a press meet held at Hatta today, AMMOCOC president, SM Jalal said, the committee welcomes the talk organised by the Union Home Ministry, but condemns the exclusion of the representatives of the Meitei Pangal community.
He said the talk to resolve the conflict is a good and needful step the Union Home Minister has initiated.
"While we hope for the talk to bring positive results that would help resolve the prolonged conflict, it is very unfortunate that no MLAs of the Meitei Pangal community were invited and included in the talk," said SM Jalal.
He said a representative to include Meitei Pangal representatives in all future talks will be submitted to the Union Home Minister.
The Meitei Pangal community must be represented in such talks.
The community is part of Manipur society and it is one of the stakeholders which has also been affected by the conflict, he said.
SM Jalal said the Meitei Pangal community would face all threats to the State's integrity.
