Govt allows wholesale trading, veg vendors

The state government has updated the new schedule for opening of vegetable vendors, grocery shops and wholesalers in respect of districts where 'Curfew' has been imposed.
In an order issued on Sunday, State Executive Committee chairman and chief secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar specified that local vegetable vendors will be allowed to open from 7 am to 10 am for purchase by the locals on June 16, 19, 22, 25 and 28, provided they are seated at least 6 feet away from one another and wear mask all the time.
Only one out of three grocery shops of the total shops/ven- dors in one location will be allowed to open on rotational basis from 7 am to 10 am on the aforementioned days.
If the shops or vendors are located in congested rows, then only alternate rows shall be allowed to open, while on major roads like NH both sides may open.
Queue system should be adopted by all shops and vendors, it stated.
The order further said that whole sale shops of grocery and food essentials located in Thangal Bazar and Masjid Road will be allowed to open from 7 am to 12 noon.
Retailers from Imphal West and Imphal East can purchase items from Thangal Bazaar and Masjid Road respectively on Sunday; retailers from Senapati, Kangpokpi at Thangal Bazaar and Kamjong from Masjid Road on Monday; Bishnupur, Noney from Thangal Bazar, and Tamenglong from Masjid Road on Tuesday; Ukhrul and Chandel retailers from Thangal Bazar on Wednesday and Pherzawl traders from Masjid Road.
On Thursday, retailers from Thoubal, Kakching should make purchase from Thangal Bazar and Tengnoupal retailers from Masjid Road; on Friday, Churachandpur retailers can buy items from Thangal Bazar and Jiribam retailers from Masjid Road while on Saturday, Imphal West retailers can make purchase from Thangal Bazar and Imphal East retailers from Masjid Road, it added.
The chief secretary further instructed respective deputy commissioners to issue movement passes to the retailers.
