Imphal, July 06 2009: After 'Shakyeng Mingshen' which was published in 2005, the second anthology of poems written by Abdul Hamid 'Mee Hinglee Mang Manglee', was released during a function at Manipur Press Club here today.

A native of Singerband, Cachar and civil engineer by profession, Abdul Hamid who works in a consultancy firm in Saudi Arabia has great love for his motherland Manipur and took three months' leave specially to ensure publication of his second anthology of poems and its release here.

The president of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Imphal Prof N Tombi Singh who was the chief guest of the function released the book.

Sahitya Akademi Awardee and former president of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Nongthombam Kunjamohan Singh presided over the function.

P Biprachand, who is a Reader in Pettigrew College, Ukhrul presented a critical appreciation of the book hailing it as a new take on post-modernism which is lagging among the budding Manipuri writers of Cachar.
