Imphal, Sep 05: Empowerment of Community for Human Education and Multitude Advancement (ECHEMA), Uripok Haobam Dewan Leikai today organised a one-day awareness programme on HIV/AIDS.

Organised under the sponsorship of Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MACS), the inaugural function of the programme was attended by District AIDS Officer, Medical Directorate Dr Nimaichand Singh as chief guest, NGO Advisor (MACS) M Premjit Singh as guest of honour and general secretary of ECHEMA Jeevan Yambem as president.

Altogether 38 women participated in the programme during which Th Indira and Th Sushila of SASO conducted group discussion as resource persons.

Joint secretary of Nirmala Foundation Saroj L who was also present at the occasion highlighted the need for proper diet and care among the HIV/AIDS infected persons.
