Govindas assures revival of District Hospital

Taking into account of the public's hesitancy in availing health care services at District Hospital Bishnupur due to the hospital admitting and taking care of Covid-19 patients, Bishnupur MLA and MPCC president Govindas Konthoujam has assured of relocating the Covid-19 patients to another facility and revive the hospital to its former glory after proper consultation with the CM and officials concerned.
He gave the assurance on the sidelines of a mass vaccination programme organised by Covid-19 Monitoring Committee Bishnupur Ward No.7 and COVID Task Force Bishnupur at Bishnupur Kha community hall on Friday.
Urging the people to get vaccinated, Govindas assured of extending all possible help to inoculate all eligible beneficiaries in the AC.
He then took account of the people's hesitancy in visiting Bishnupur District Hospital due to Covid and as such, assured of doing all that are possible to make people comfortable in visiting the hospital.
COVID Task Force Bishnupur chairman N Bimola Devi said that many people are afraid of visiting the District Hospital due to Covid.
On top of this, routine immunisation for pregnant women and children has been put on halt.
Thus, she appealed to the state government and the authority concerned to shift the Covid-19 patients to Community Care Centre Bishnupur and Community Care Centre, Ningthoukhong as soon as possible, in addition to providing them with quality medical care and service.
On the other hand, Keinou Gram Panchayat COVID 19 Task Force of Nambol CD Block organised a mass Covid-19 vaccination programme at Ngaikhong Khunou Ward No 10 and 11 on Friday.
In all, 500 people were vaccinated during the programme.
Speaking on the sidelines, GP Pradhan Ng Sovana Devi informed that efforts are being made to ensure 100 percent vaccination rate in the area, with support from the stakeholders concerned.
She then called for concerted efforts in preventing the spread of the pandemic, while adding that the GP will extend all possible help in the matter.
