Ahead of the CPI National general conference scheduled for March 23 to 28 in Andhra Pradesh, the CPI Manipur State Council will be organising the 19th State conference from February 17 till February 19 at the Irabot Memorial hall of Lamlai Chalou.
Briefing media persons at Irabot Bhavan this afternoon, MLA N Mangi who is also chairman of the preparatory committee specifically constituted for the forthcoming national conference informed that 65 countries have been invited to the Andhra Pradesh conference.
The State conference will be inaugurated by CPI general secretary AB Bardhan, MP Gurudas Gupta and CPI North East secretary in-charge Pramod Gogoi.
The conference will be attended by more than 450 delegates from CPI district and local councils, said Mangi.
The three day conference will deliberate on sustaining a stable Government in the State, preservation of the State's territorial integrity, strengthening of the Left and other democratic parties, finding a permanent solution to the existing insurgency problem through political means, proper implementation of central sponsored schemes etc, informed ex-Minister Dr M Nara.
The CPI district councils has also been instructed to organise district level meetings prior to the State conference, added Dr Nara.
