Mass cycle rally organised

Imphal, November 14 2021:
A mass cycle rally was organised today jointly by Office of the Chief Electoral Officer Manipur, Handicapped Development (HD) Foundation Manipur, State Platform of Disabled People's Organisation Manipur and Manipur Adventure And Mountain Biking Association on the theme of 'The rights and importance of the participation of people with disabilities in upcoming election, 2022' .
The mass cycle rally was flagged off by Daulat Khan, Joint Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) and Ramananda Nongmeikapam, Joint CEO from Thau Ground, Thangmeiband.
Daulat Khan addressed the gathering and stated that the rally was an awareness campaign to let people know that people with disabilities are afforded the same set of rights by the Indian Constitution.
He also urged disabled people who are 18 years or above to register themselves in the electoral roll in order to secure their voting rights so that they may participate in the upcoming Assembly election.
The Joint CEO further encouraged thepeopleto elect a worthy candidate without any outside influence.
It may be mentioned that several placards displaying messages such as 'Disabled singsu vote thadabagi hak fanghansi', 'Disabled voter singbu ekai khumnabiyu', 'Chahi suraba disable sing voter list ta ming chalhansi' etc were sported during the rally which was participated by around 100 persons including disabled persons.
