ADC Chairman calls for peaceful by-election

No matter what the circumstances is, people of 8-Wakotphai District Council Constituency should exercise their voting rights in by-election which is scheduled to be held in September, asserted ADC, Sadar Hills Chairman Haokholal Hangshing at the flag hoisting cum declaration of INC candidate yesterday at Wakotphai village, Sadar Hills.
Hangshing also appealed to avoid creating fearful environment during the by-election so as to ensure that every voter exercises his/her rights.
He said that India has a multi-party system and diverse communities where each section needs to have a say in the decision making process which in turn are helped by the political parties.

"Any political party might form a Government at the Centre but the developmental schemes and facilities allotted for the State will not be restricted since it is bound by a constitutional law", averred Hangshing who assertively said that Congress party will again form the next Government in the State.
Highlighting the commitment of Congress party on various social issues, Hangshing claimed that the Congress Government in its last tenure had initiated significant social policies like MGNREGA, NHRM, RTI and the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redreassal) Act.
Meanwhile, Thangjakam Misao, Vice Chairman ADC, Sadar Hills hoisted the Indian National Congress flag in the presence of Haokholal Hangshing, ADC Members apart from civil body leaders, village chiefs and Church leaders.
While Seikholen Sitlhou was officially declared as the INC candidate for 8-Wakotphai DCC by-election, Pastor Jangneimang Kipgen, TBA, Twilang area invoked a blessing prayer for the candidate and the election committee.
