Tengnoupal, January 22 2022: In view of the rising COVID-19 positive cases in the State, Tengnoupal District Administration in collaboration with Medical Department Tengnoupal conducted mass random Covid testing at Moreh on Saturday.

Mass testing was carried out in various places along the road leading to Indo-Myanmar Friendship Gate-2 and Moreh Keithel.

Chief Medical Officer Tengnoupal, Dr Kh Gojen; PHC Moreh, MO in-charge Dr Kh Santikumar; ASP (LO), Sukumar and OC, Anand took part in the mass testing.

10 persons were reportedly found COVID-19 positive out of the total 333 persons tested with RAT.

Out of the positive cases, five were Myanmar nationals.

They were sent back to Myanmar with instructions for home isolation.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kh Gojen stated that the mass Covid testing was conducted in view of the recent surge in Covid positive cases in Tengnoupal district.

He also appealed to the public to follow the SOPs mandated by the Government to combat the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, Moreh Police also distributed face masks to the people at Moreh Keithel.
