Extending financial assistance to KCP, a threat to society: City Meitei

Imphal, October 17 2011: While cautioning the people of the state to stay alert from fake KCP groups formed by security personnel, commandos and tablet abusers who extort money from civilians to feed their drugs habits, Chief Advisor of the proscribed UG group KCP (MTF) City Meitei observed that extending financial aid to KCP groups has become a serious threat to the peace and tranquillity of the Manipur.

Speaking to reporters in a secluded place of North East India, City Meitei said that KCP (MTF) itself had declared that the party will not seek further financial aid from the public in 2008.He urged the people of the state to inform the party if anybody made monetary demand in the name of KCP.

He said that KCP (MTF) was formed as a military wing of KCP in 2004 to keep a watch on the unreasonable charge imposed by private hospitals and banks to its customers.

He was selected as commander of the wing by the chairman of the party Leibakmacha and the members of Advisory Committee.

Moreover the wing was given the power to discipline the party's cadres.

But the wing got separated from the party after he developed a clash with Lamphel Luwangcha of the party when the later announced his ouster from the party in 2005 .

Since then the wing has been working as a separate party, he said.

Kesho Meitei from Mayang Imphal Konchak was recruited to the party after around 5 months.

Later he was appointed Deputy Commander of the party.

When City was arrested in 2009 from Bangalore, Kesho appointed himself as the commander of the party and began extortion from civilians by using the name of the party.

Kesho had bought vast areas of land Mayang Imphal Sagai Sabi and Wangkhei Yonglan Leirak for which he gave Rs 1.3 crore to a woman from Mayang Imphal Konchak Chegaipokpi.

He also gave Rs 85 lakh to a person from Mayang Imphal Chirai to carry out a contract work in Guwahati Airport.

When the party asked him to give back the amount given to the two persons, Kesho went missing and has been traceless since then.

Any person who can provide information about them will be awarded Rs 1.5 lakh, City Meitei added.
