Manipur Science and Technology Council (MASTEC) in co-ordination with Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Liwa Khullen Sarei, Chandel would be organising the first Nature Orientation Camp for the children of the district at the complex of the Vidyalaya from September 28 to October 1.The programme is being catalysed and supported by NCSTC, DST, Govt of India.
The main objective of the camp is to educate the children about the nature for enhancing their curiosity on things around them and to guide them into exploring the environment themselves.
During the camp, trained resource persons would educate the children about nature through various activities like lecture, fun game, audio-visual shows, sample collections and its observation using low cost equipments, etc.
Schools from Chandel district tilling to participate in the same camp may nominate a team of one guide teacher and four children from class VI to X to the Principal Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chandel on or before September 20.There will be eight teams to participate in the said camp.
On successful completion of the camp, a set of low cost instruments like simple microscope, tripod magnifier, double lens, etc will be presented to each of the participating school.
