Imphal, January 05 2025:
The National Executive Meeting of All India State Government Employees Confederation (AISGEC) was held at Bhupesh Bhawan, Kolkata on Sunday.
The meeting was presided over by AISGEC senior vice president and Manipur Confederation president M Joykumar, said a release issued by AISGEC.
AISGEC general secretary CR Joseprakash, Dr Nirmala Devi and other delegates from across the country were present at the National Executive meeting.
During the meeting, the delegates deliberated on the activity report of the confederation presented by the general secretary, the ongoing conflict in Manipur, termination of appointments without reservation and other issues faced by the Indian middle-class and working class.
The delegation took a number of resolutions including urging the Central Government to take immediate steps to initiate political dialogues between different groups to bring an end to the Manipuri cris which has been going on for more than 20 months.
The delegation expressed their concern over the prolonged conflict which has led to irreparable loss' of many precious lives and properties, and left thousands displaced forcing them to take shelter in relief camps opened across the State.
On appointments without reservation, the delegation observed that the Central and State Government have imposed an unwritten ban on recruitment in the country which has subverted the provision of reservation guaranteed by the Constitution.
They also observed that the Dalits, religious minorities and other backward classes have been further marginalized by not getting any benefits from the Government.
In this regard, the National Executive Meeting resolved to launch a nationwide propaganda programme and organised a march & dharna to Parliament in April 2025, followed by an all-India strike.
