Thoubal, July 29 2020:
Many people who came for COVID-19 test were left annoyed at Thoubal hospital today after they were informed that their tests had to be deferred due to lack of test kits.
Reports of COVID-19 positive cases among people who have no travel history have left everyone in the Thoubal anxious and worried and denial of tests for those who have close contacts with COVID-19 patients is regretful and unfortunate on the part of the concerned authorities, said many who were denied tests today.
They even insisted that they would not leave the hospital premises until their tests are done.
Altogether 434 people were listed to undergo COVID-19 test at District Hospital Thoubal while another 400 were to undergo test (mobile) at Thoubal Khekman.
The ruckus erupted after the Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Thoubal informed that the hospital has only 350 test kits and thus no tests will be conducted at the hospital today.
The situation was, however, settled at around 3.30 pm with the Medical Superintendent announcing that 100 tests would be conducted today and remaining will be done tomorrow.
