Imphal, September 21 2014:
Allegations against the functionaries of Sadar Hills ADC and leadership of Chairman Haokholal Hangshing which were published in local dailies on September 19 were concocted and baseless, said Sadar Hills ADC Executive Member Seikholal Haokip in a statement.
The District Council is a Government institution which has been smoothly functioning under the relevant Act and Rules, said the statement.
With regard to the allegation that Rs one crore has been misused, it said that the amount was a general basic grant for 2012-2013 which was sanctioned by the Government under F/C vide order number 19/2/2011 CH/FC of 07/07/2014 for constructing one hundred water tanks for 100 Primary schools which were selected by the department concerned.
The statement said that due process for construction of water tanks is underway through the respective school's headmaster/Village authority in consultation with the assigned members of the department concerned.
It asserted that the alleged opening of 70 Anganwadi centres within the purview of the ADC is baseless.
The statement then accused Paojalet Touthang, Vice-Chairman, Sadar Hills ADC, Kangpokpi of being a trouble maker in the administration of the District Council and his allegations were nothing but to tarnish the political image of the Chairman and ADC officials.
The statement further directed all the Congress party members under the ADC to obey the principles and ideologies of the high command.
