AMGSU visits storm affected villages

All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (AMGSU) visited the storm affected villages within Kanglatongbi Gram Panchayat today, reports our correspondent.
AMGSU general secretary LB Adhikari said that more than 72 houses were damaged by the storm yesterday morning while 57 houses at Tispari, 14 houses at Hatikhuwa and one from Mantriband have been affected.
He also pointed out that around 109 persons from 20 affected families have been staying in a relief camp at Tispari Adhunik Hindi LP School since yesterday and the relief materials are sponsored by the SDO/SDC, Kanglatongbi Gram Panchayat.
Volunteers of Roshan Youth Club, Tispari has been looking after the people the relief camp.
He further said that due to lack of proper location for the relief camp, Tispari Adhunik Hindi LP School has been temporarily closed down.
He urged the State Government to address the grievances of the affected people at the earliest so that students can also start attending the classes.
He also extended heartfelt gratitude to Sekmai MLA Kh Devendro for visiting the affected people and providing assurance of all possible assistance.
Immediate assistance and necessary arangement should be provided by the State Government considering the hardships of the affected people, he added.
