RPF clarifies on arrest

Quoting a press release issued by PIB (DW) about the arrest of alleged PLA over ground worker Hidangmayum Brojen Sharma (40) s/o H Brojamani of Thinungei Ward No 9 by 16th Maratha Light Infantry and which was published on May 15 in local newspapers, the proscribed RPF has clarified that Brojen has no connection with the party.
Again, referring to the case of one Sgt Timothy who was present in the surrender function held in Hqs IG AR (S) on May 26, a press release issued by RPF's assistant publicity secretary GM Changjou contended that Timothy is not with the PLA.
But Cpl Timothy was arrested by Assam Rifles along with a Lemon mobile handset with two SIMs from Churachandpur on January 30 last.
As for the one AK 56 rifle, one magazine and 30 live rounds, the outfit never gave them to Cpl Timothy.
The weapon and the ammunition might be of Assam Rifles.
Family members also conveyed that Assam Rifles threatened to kill Timothy if he refused to take part in the surrender drama.
Reports were also received about an AR team coming to Timothy's house and threatening both his father and mother.
Cpl Timothy was an unarmed member working in the outfit's Department of Minority Affairs and was assisting in civil administration.
