World Rabies Day observed

As observed across the globe, World Rabies Day was celebrated today in the State under the theme, "Rabies: One Health, Zero Deaths" .
Pet Hunger Khuyathong, Pet Stop and Churachandpur District Veterinary Department today observed World Rabies Day at Pet Stop Centre complex in New Lamka College Road Heaven Veng, Churachandpur district.
At the event, John Panmei, proprietor Pet Hunger Khuyathong stated that the Day was observed to spread awareness about the dangers of the disease, and how it can be prevented.
As part of the programme, about 400 dogs and cats were administered the Anti-Rabies vaccine.
Similarly, District Health Society Jiribam and District Surveillance Unit also jointly observed World Rabies Day at Jiribam Hospital, Ningsingkhun .
It was attended by District Hospital Jiribam, Chief Medical Officer Dr E Okendro Singh; Sub Divisional Veterinary Hospital Jiribam, Veterinary Officer Dr Shah Almas; and Community Health Centre (CHC), Medicine Specialist Dr Justin Haobam as presidium members.
Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Services, Senapati also organised a Free Anti-Rabies Vaccination camp today at Senapati Ground to mark World Rabies Day.
