RIMSAM 2025 kicks off with grandeur

Imphal, April 20 2025: The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences Students' Union (RIMSSU) successfully organised the inauguration ceremony of RIMSAM (RIMS Annual Meet) today at the RIMS Ground, Imphal.

The event was formally inaugurated by Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS Imphal, in the presence of Prof S Ranita Devi, Staff Advisor, RIMSSU; Prof S Subhaschandra Singh, Staff Advisor, RIMSSU; Prof H Jamuna Devi, Principal, College of Nursing, RIMS; Prof B Praveen Reddy, Principal, Dental College, RIMS; Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital; and Prof Th Meera, Dean (Academic), RIMS.

As per a release issued by RIMS, the inaugural function began with a vibrant torch relay, followed by the flag hoisting ceremony and an impressive march past by the participating contingents.

The program marked the formal commencement of RIMSAM, which brings together students from various departments to engage in sports, cultural, and literary events.

Speaking at the event, Prof G Sunil Kumar emphasized the core values of fair play and environmental consciousness, while appreciating the enthusiastic participation of students and faculty.

He urged everyone to support the plastic-free campus initiative, stressing the vital link between environmental and human health.

"RIMSAM is more than just an event - it is a platform to showcase talent, celebrate cultural diversity, and build lasting bonds.

The event reflects RIMS's holistic approach to development, combining academic excellence with fitness, creativity, and social responsibility", said the Director.

The RIMSSU team expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty, and students for their enthusiastic participation and support in making the inauguration a grand success.
