KVK celebrates golden jubilee

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Imphal East celebrated the golden jubilee of KVKs in India today at the training hall of its institution in Andro.
According to a statement issued by S Molibala Devi, Senior Scientist & Head in-charge, KVK Imphal East (Andro), the symbolic ceremonial torch was handed to KVK Imphal East by Professor Ph Ranjit Sharma, Director of Extension Education, CAU, Imphal which was passed on by KVK Churachandpur.
The handing over of the torch signifies the continuity of knowledge and commitment to agricultural process, said the statement.
Meanwhile, S Molibala highlighted the legacy of KVK in India which was first established in 1974 and how KVKs have been a centre of agricultural excellence for the district.
The contribution of KVK for the welfare of the farming community through technology and fostering sustainability with skill and knowledge were highlighted.
Notably, the golden jubilee celebration signifies KVKs' commitment to advances in agriculture and allied activities.
Eighteen farmers and farm women from the district attended the celebration along with the staff.
Hermetic storage bags and vegetable seeds were distributed to mark 50 years of KVKs in India.
