Ukhrul, February 08 2025:
The Tangkhul Shanao Long (TSL) has spoken out against Chief Secretary Prashant Kumar Singh's "indifferent attitude to the Tangkhul women body leaders" and refusal to engage with public representatives regarding the demand to cancel the transfer order of Zuringla Kengoo.
According to a press statement issued by Thingreiphy Lungharwo, president, TSL, they sought an appointment with the Chief Secretary on February 5 and again on February 6 .
However, despite their repeated efforts and appeals from multiple stakeholders, the Chief Secretary "deliberately avoided" meeting them.
Terming this act as "unacceptable", TSL said that this also raises serious concerns about the administration's accountability to the people it serves.
Stating that TSL has done everything in its power to advocate for the people's demand to cancel the transfer order of Zuringla Kengoo, it added that as the authorities have failed to respond, it now places the matter in the hands of the public.
It also declared that the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary of Manipur will be held accountable for any consequences that may arise from their failure to address this issue.
Mention may be made that TSL met Chief Minister N Biren Singh in this connection on January 31, who assured to consider the matter while acknowledging the strong public sentiment.
