Teacher's quick action saves child suffering from heart disease

Bishnupur, January 08 2023: A school teacher's quick action saved the life of a 12-year old child who had fainted during class at Ningthoukhong Sardar Patel High School in Ningthoukhong Bazar on September9, 2022 .

Senior Assistant Teacher of Ningthoukhong Sardar Patel High School, Hemam Shilabati Devi's immediately rushed the student, one Nongdrenkhomba @ Nongdamkhomba Moirangthem son of Moirangthem Dhanabir Singh to Ningthoukhong Primary Health Centre for necessary medical care after he fainted during class.

After reaching the PHC, it was found out that the child fainted due to a heart related problem.

Upon the advice of the doctors, officials of the Social Welfare Department were called at the Centre to look into the situation.

Later, the child was referred to District Hospital and then to Shija Hospital.

From Shija Hospital it was referred to RIMS and finally to Guwahati.

It may be mentioned that the child is currently receiving medical care at Narayan Hospital in Guwahati.

Speaking to media persons, Hemam Shilabati Devi informed that Nongdrenkhomba suddenly fainted during the 4th period and was immediately rushed to Ningthoukhong PHC for medical care.

She continued that officials of the Social Welfare Department were called at the PHC to look into the hearing disability of the child.

M (O) Lata Devi, mother of Nongdrenkhomba extended her gratitude to Hemam Shilabati Devi for saving her son.
