Okram Joy praises Okram Ibobi led govt

Opposition leader and leader of the MPP legislature Wing MLA Okram Joy today praised the Congress led SPF government for its various development works being taken up in the state especially in his Langthabal constituency in the past few years.
MLA O Joy was speaking as chief guest of a function in which housing loans were distributed to beneficiaries under the MOBC scheme organised by the Langthabal Kendra Development Committee held today at Moirangpokpa Community Hall at Kakwa.
MLA Langthabal Assembly constituency Okram Joy and Chief Engineer NHPC Maibam Lalmani graced the function as chief guest and president respectively.
Pradhan of Maibam Leikai GP, L Birjit, Pradhan of Langthabal Mantrikhong Naorem Leikai GP, A Sarat and Pradhan of Oinam Thingel GP, Ng Rameshwar also attended the function as guests of honour.
Speaking in the occasion, Okram Joy said that out of the 88 beneficiaries, loan amount of 68 beneficiaries were provided by the Langthabal Kendra Development Committee from its own funds while the remaining 20 beneficiaries' sanction came from the MOBC.
The loan was given to underprivileged persons only.
He also said that those who do not get the loan under the scheme will be provided the loan amount in another function which is to be held in August this year.
He also urged the needy people not to hesitate in coming forward to express their grievances and even asked the committee members to include themselves in the list of beneficiaries.
Praising the developmental works being taken up by the congress led SPF government in the state, O Joy said that people find the present government a good government as one can take up various developmental works for the welfare of the people without much disturbances.
Langthabal constituency has witnessed many developmental changes in the past five years.
The Leishang Hiden project has been developed once again.
The government is planning to convert the Leishang Hiden as a tourist spot and attract foreign tourists as soon as the project is completed.
He further said that renovation works of Chandranadi and Gambhir Singh memorial site is in progress under the present government.
The one and only Manipur University has been upgraded to a Central University during the tenure of the SPF government.
Road transport system has been developed in the constituency fruits of which its people will witness soon.
Plan to upgrade the Primary Health Centre at Kakwa to enable performing minor surgeries is also under process.
He said that people of the constituency will witness a major change in various sectors within the constituency by the end of the current term of the SPF government.
Later MLA O Joy distributed GI sheets, rickshaws, fish spawn, poultry materials, vegetables and spray pumps to 220 beneficiaries as part of the function.
