Imphal, April 03 2023: PHE Minister L Susindro has launched an awareness campaign on water and sanitation that will reach all 16 districts of the State.

The awareness campaign, "Clean Water and Sanitation: Empowering Communities for Sustainable Development", was kicked off with a bike rally the Minister flagged off at Khuman Lampak.

The awareness campaign will be first held in Kamjong and it will reach all districts of the State, said L Susindro.

The awareness carries messages informing people about the importance of clean water and sanitation.

It will appeal to the people to conserve water and use it judiciously, he said.

It will also discourage people from felling trees.

The awareness aims at promoting afforestation and protecting forests, he added.

Meanwhile, the bike rally which started at Khuman Lampak reached Kasom Khullen and held an awareness programme at Sadhavna Mandap with the locals.

SDO Kasom Khullen P Duna Duo, Kasom Khullen village headman Wungwung Shanglai and PHED Kamjong EE Chamdanlung Rongmei among others attended the programme.

Renowned singers of the State also presented a musical concert bearing awareness on clean water and sanitation.

SDO P Duna Duo appealed to the people to conserve water and use it wisely.

He also advised people against deforestation and burning of forests.
