Imphal, August 02 2025: Manipur Police arrested two persons who were running a cybercrime racket using mule bank accounts from near ISBT, Khuman Lampak on July 31 .

As per a bulletin issued by the Police Control Room last night, the arrested persons have been identified as Bikram Basumatary (31), a resident of Barpeta, Assam and Sudem Basumatary (35) from Chirang, Assam.

The police said that the two arrested individuals were members of a criminal network who were tasked to enter data in solving transactions and collect sensitive credentials such as Aadhaar and bank account details.

It said that two mule bank accounts which the duo was using were linked to economic offences committed in different States as recorded in the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal.
