Tamenglong ADC Chairman presents report

Fund amounting to Rs 81,25,500 sanctioned for Tamenglong ADC as State Plan amount for the last three years has been spent on construction of small town building, office renovation, purchase of furniture, gadgets like computer, printer, photostat machine; repairing of veterinary dispensary (PHSC); office compound fencing at Tamenglong; office maintenance at Imphal and Tamenglong and repairing of medical dispensaries (PHEC) .
This was stated by G Soihem Haomei, Chairman of Tamenglong ADC while presenting a brief progress report of the ADC for the last three years during the thanksgiving and commemoration prorgamme of three years completion on June 26 .
The ADC Chairman further said that Rs 44 Lakh as Letter of Credit (LOC) fund for the ADC has been spent on staff pay and allowance; office maintenance; purchase of Bolero Jeep; Sitting Allowances/TA/DA of members; purchase of stationery items for both Imphal and Tamenglong offices; vehicle maintenance; miscellaneous expenses at Imphal and Tamenglong offices; purchased of used Bolero; PDC expenses and overtime and deputation allowance.
He further said that a total of Rs 2,83,42,580 has been sanctioned for the last three years (2010-13) under the 13th Finance Commission by the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, GoI for infrastructure development.
The amount sanction for the 2011-12 was used on construction of drinking water tank, rain water harvesting scheme, renovation of traditional water tank and improvement of IVRs and staff salary.
In 2012-13 the amount sanctioned under the 13th Finance Commission was spent on procuring deficient infrastructure in schools and payment of staff salary.
Procuring of teaching aid and repairing of IVRs were also done during the period.
He said Tamenglong ADC has submitted proposal for upgradation of 76 UJB/Primary Schools in the district to the State Government besides proposing setting up of 46 new schools in the district.
He further said that 159 chowkidar cum attendant would be appointed on contract basis.
The ADC also pressed the Govt to mend shortage of Science and Hindi teachers.
