Manipur People's Party (MPP) leader, O Joy Singh has observed that inattention towards civil cases has led to occurrence of brutal crimes, which are uglier than the conduct of animals in Manipur.
Citing the killing of Satyabhama as one such crime of increased animalism in Manipur, O Joy said that as we have given more attention to the issues and crimes pertaining to insurgency, laws enforcing bodies and state government have given almost free hands to the civil cases.
Scores of serious crimes have occurred and many would take place in future, Satyabhama would not be the first nor the last victim of such negligence.
The seasoned politician is of the opinion that if police seriously and effectively investigated into the civil cases and suitable punishments are given by the courts, then there would be significant drop in the rate crimes in the State.
Government should depute top police officials to conduct investigation of serious nature and police should also be upgraded for effective investigation, he added.
A high level investigation by top police officials is needed to unearth the mystery of Satyabhama case at the earliest and should provide stringent punishment to the culprits.
On the other hand, all the sections of the society should assist in finding the culprits, O Joy said.
