IM sends strong warning to AR

Dimapur, November 04 2013: The blow-hot, blow-cold relationship between the NSCN-IM and the government of India is becoming a matter of concern with the Naga outfit warning today the activities of the Assam Rifles will only deepen the already strained relationship to the worse.

"The Assam Rifles are hereby reminded once again that, your hyper-active actions will not dampen the spirit of NSCN nor will it help the ongoing peace process with your Prime Minister but it will only deepen the already strained relationship to the worse," the NSCN-IM said today.

The NSCN-IM alleged that "the notorious so called Friends of the Hill People Assam Rifles has once again showed their cowardice by raiding the residence of senior leader Yanger Pongener (Executive member, Steering Committee) NSCN on November 3 from 4 pm till 9 pm evening at Sovima 7th Mile in Dimapur" .

"Our leader who despite having Green Card meant only for selective few was without any reason harassed and humiliated along with his wife and daughter," it added.

NSCN-IM said it will not be intimidated by such unscrupulous activity of the Assam Rifles but considered it as a sign of indiscipline and wearing down of India's chain of command and clear frustration within the rank and file of Assam Rifle.

"We request the chairman Ceasefire Monitoring Group (CFMG) to pull up the Indian army for violating the Cease fire Agreement and inculcate in them a sense of discipline and decency in dealing with the Naga leaders," it stated.

According to the NSCN-IM, when Naga peoples are enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of cease fire, so called the friends of the hill people are creating fear psychosis to the people who wish to live a normal life.

If terrorizing the Naga public with an excuse of searching arms from the NSCN-IM becomes the habit of Assam Rifles.

It can be recalled here that in the month of August this year, the NSCN-IM had cautioned that 'the ongoing cease fire between it and New Delhi was coming to a dead end' and had accused the government of India of not abiding the Cease Fire Ground Rules.

The NSCN-IM also had said they are 'very seriously thinking about it'.

The NSCN-IM had also stated that the government of India was interpreting the Cease Fire Ground Rules according to its own convenience.
