Imphal, May 30 2011:
Refuting the claim of ADC Chandel chairman Lunkhosei Zou, Leibi Village Authority has clarified that at no point of time it has neither been invited by the Government/ ADC Chandel nor received any official letter for signing MoU or hold talks to resolve the present deadlock over land dispute between Leibi and Kwatha villages.
In a statement, chairman of Leibi Village Authority Kh Medar Dangsha pointed out that it was at the request of Meitei Council Moreh, Ima Kondong Laiharaoba Committee, Hill Tribal Council Moreh and Maring Uparup Assembly that the village authority considered for exemption and called on ADC Chandel Chairman on May 13 and the 2-point MoU was signed, and accordingly the bandh was called off with effect from 6 pm of May 13 to 6 pm of May 25 .
So, there is no question of any joint meeting with the emissary of the Government of Manipur/ADC Chandel nor any communication in this regard.
Lunkhosei Zou should come up with evidences to support his claim, failing which he should be punished under the relevant law for cheating and step down from the chairmanship for not being able to live up to his responsibility of defending the rights of the tribal people and their land, Kh Medar Dangsha challenged.
