Federation of Government College Teachers Associations (FEGOCTA) Manipur reaffirmed their stand to boycott online classes and examinations in the Government colleges including those in Dhanamanjuri University, if the Orders of 7th UGC Pay and Regulations, 2018 are not issued by June 30.FEGOCTA in a press release said that any disturbance on the online classes and examinations after June 30, Higher Education Department headed by the Education Minister should take the sole responsibility.
And the orders should be as per MOU of March 6 and Cabinet approval of June 27, added the statement.
There will be an emergency general body meeting of FEGOCTA on online mode on June 28 .
FEGOCTA appreciated and welcomed the Education Minister's belated action of sending the files to Finance.
However FEGOCTA appealed to the Minister to be a responsible and full time Minister of Higher Education also and not just for School Education.
It also requested the Education Minister to be proactive in implementing national policy of UGC in Manipur.
FEGOCTA also appealed to the Deputy Chief Minister who holds Finance and the Chief Secretary to ensure immediate action on the Orders of 7th UGC Pay and Regulations, 2018 .
The teachers body also maintained that bringing quality education and ensuring no disturbances on the online classes and examinations in the Govt colleges are the joint responsibility of the Government, teachers and every other stockholder.
Putting the blames and giving all the responsibility to the college teachers is not the solution.
