Joint meet discusses issues affecting tribals

Imphal, April 27 2025: The Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM), General Headquarters,heldajointmeeting with the leaders of the village authority, youth club and women's organisation of Chingmeirong Kabuikhul, Imphal, on April 27, 2025, at Chingmeirong Kabuikhul, Imphal.

As per a release issued by TYCM, the meeting discussed and deliberated on a range of issues affecting the tribal communities.

Following a constructive exchange of views, the president and general secretary of TYCM-GHQ sensitized the leaders on the suppression of tribal rights and the Government's negligence and improper oversight in respect of the Directorate of Tribal Affairs & Hills Department, Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Manipur State Commission for Scheduled Tribes (MSCST), and Manipur Tribal Development Corporation Ltd (MTDC).

The leaders of the village authority, youth club and women's organisation also shared their perspectives and highlighted the various challenges faced by the tribals of Manipur.

They also declared their full endorsement of the issues raised by the TYCM and assured their unwavering support for the cause of the tribal people of Manipur.

The TYCM delegation, comprising five executive council members, was led by its president, Momo Tantanga.
