Imphal, January 27, 2011:
Terming the January 20 incident in which properties of RIMS were damaged by a patient's party as unfortunate, Medical Superintendent of medical institute Dr Y Mohen has appealed to all to ensure such incidents in future.
Talking to mediapersons in his office chamber today, Dr Mohen said that the patient, H Bidyananda of Kongpal, who was referred to RIMS Hospital from JNIMS, died from an illness at around 7.40 pm of January 20. In connection with the passing away of the patient, a group of people suspected to be patient's party not only damaged glass partition of the nursing assistants' room located adjacent to the surgical ward of the hospital but also instrument for monitoring BP.
On account of this, the BP of the patients admitted in the ward could not be monitored, Dr Mohen informed, adding that no doctors in the hospital would ever think of imperilling the lives of the patients.
Asserting that destructions on hospital properties would never bring about any solution, Dr Mohen observed that such incidents of violence would impede the doctors and staff in any hospital in proper deliverance of their services to the patients.
So, to ensure proper deliverance of service to the people, such incidents of violence should be restrained, Dr Mohen said.
