Thoubal, December 22 2022: District Skill Committee Thoubal today organised a District Level Skill Mela at Thoubal College Auditorium.

It was attended by LN Kashung, Mission Director, Manipur Society for Skill Development; Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, A Subhash Singh and Prof M Bina, principal Thoubal College as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, LN Kashung stated that there are a lot of qualified youths in Manipur but most of them lack skill.

"In order to impart skill to these educated youth, the society is organising various short term as well as long term courses", said LN Kashung while appealing to the youth to take part in such programmes and revamp their knowledge.

District Level Skill Mela organised

A Subhash Singh shared that the District skill Mela was organised to give awareness to the youth about the skills and knowledge they can get from various fields.

He expressed happiness that students from various schools are show-casing their skills by making various items like incense sticks and kauna products.

The DC further announced that a Skill Development training center will be set up in the district.

Notable training providers in the Skill Mela included JCRE, OZONE, IRDEO, JSS, NIELIT, GoAviator, CIPET and NIELIT.

Various departments like Zonal Education office, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, District Industries Center, Fishery, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry and NYK among others participated in the Mela.
