MoU inked to enhance paediatric cancer care

In a landmark development aimed at transforming paediatric cancer care in Manipur, Mother's Care Children Hospital and American Oncology Institute (AOI) at Babina Speciality Hospital have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for collaboration in radiodiagnosis and radiotherapy.
The memorandum was signed by Dr Asit Kumar Debnath, Medical Director, Mother's Care Children Hospital & Research Centre and Manas Majumder, Facility Director, AOI in the presence of Dr Kh Ratankumar Singh, Chairman cum Managing Director, Mother's Care Children Hospital & Research Centre; management team, healthcare professionals, and representatives from both institutions.
The MoU signed on Friday underscored a shared commitment to enhancing healthcare services for children battling cancer in the region.
This collaboration will leverage the advanced diagnostic and therapeutic expertise of AOI Babina Speciality Hospital and the specialized paediatric care services of Mother's Care Children Hospital to deliver comprehensive and accessible cancer treatment for young patients.
Under the agreement, the two institutions will work collaboratively on: Comprehensive Cancer Diagnosis- Advanced imaging and diagnostic services to ensure accurate and early detection of paediatric cancers; Radiotherapy Services - Access to state-of-the-art radiotherapy equipment and protocols tailored for paediatric patients; and Awareness Campaigns - Joint initiatives to raise awareness about paediatric cancers and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment.
The partnership is poised to significantly enhance the oncology landscape in Manipur by integrating specialized paediatric care with advanced cancer treatment modalities.
The initiative is expected to benefit hundreds of families by providing world-class treatment options within the state.
