Diabetes detection camps held

Lions Club of Imphal Valley along with LC Imphal North and LC Imphal Northern Hemisphere conducted a 'Diabetes awareness and detection cum health check up camp' at Khurai Nandeibam Leikai, Lamlong in association with Young Sports cum Library Club today.
As per a statement, the camp was organised in connection with the observance of "One Multiple One Activity" under the theme 'Knock out Diabetes' by Lions Club International Multiple District 322 from November 12 to 20.During the camp, altogether 56 persons were screened for blood sugar along with health check up and BP monitoring.
Out of this, 15 persons were found to be suffering from Type II diabetes and 33 persons were found to be suffering from Hypertension.
Diabetes awareness and prevention measures were also shared with the gathering, the statement added.
Separately, Lions Club of Imphal east and Lions Club of Imphal Galaxy jointly organised "One Day Diabetes Detection & Awareness Camp" at the premises of North eastern Library & Cultural Centre, Moirangkampu Sajeb Makha Leikai under Imphal East district today.
According to a statement, 115 patients were examined by two medical specialists and three para-medical personnel during the camp.
Out of this 71 patients were detected with diabetes.
Thirty-four Lions Club members and twenty members of the Library & Cultural Centre rendered their services during the day's health camp.
