JD(U) Manipur reaches out to displaced victims of Jiribam

Jiribam, June 13 2024:
With the primary objective to address the grievances of the displaced victims of Jiribam violence and examine the situation, a team of Janata Dal (United) Manipur led by its eminent leaders visited many relief camps in Jiribam today.
The JDU Manipur team also provided edible and essential items to the relief camps for the displaced victims who have been rendered homeless and compelled to take refuge in these relief centres.
The team visited relief camps opened at Sorok Atingbi High School; Khunou Leikai; Bidyanagar Sports Complex and Chingdong Leikai today.
Speaking in connection with the inspection visit, JDU Manipur Chief Spokesperson Dr Nimaichand Luwang expressed dismay to see the condition of the displaced persons whose houses have been set ablaze in the recent outbreak of violence in the district.
In a bid to restore peace and normalcy in the State, he said that the party will take up all possible measures in consultation with its central party leaders.
JDU Manipur vice-president Dr Kh Loken while speaking at the sidelines assured to urge the Government to deploy adequate security personnel in the district as per the wishes of the people of the district for their safety and protection.
Voicing the same aspiration, former Chief Secretary of Manipur Oinam Nabakishore appealed to the Chief Minister to implement strict measures to provide strict actions against the perpetrators who have been fuelling the violence posing threat to the lives and properties of the innocent civilians.
He also urged the Government to expedite measures for restoration of peace and harmony in Manipur for the well-being of all.
