2nd annual conference of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Manipur Prant held

Imphal, February 12 2023: The 2nd annual conference of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Manipur Prant was held today at Rotary Bhavan, Mantripukhri.

Gajendra Singh Sandhu, National President, BVP; Suresh Jain, National Organising Secretary, BVP; Dr N Rajmuhon Singh, Vice Chancellor, Dhanamanjuri University and Dr H Priyoshakhi Devi, President BVP, Manipur Prant and Director, RIMS graced the event as the presidium members.

Speaking at the occasion, Gajendra Singh Sandhu stated that there is a need to understand the concept of the unity of the country.

He also stressed on the practice of the concept of unity in diversity in different parts of India irrespective of state, caste, creed, language or religion.

Speaking at the occasion, Suresh Jain, National Organising Secretary, BVP said that one should dedicate themselves to help needy persons in the community to uplift their socio-economic status.

He stressed on the need of opening various vocational training centres for local artisans especially women to gain economic empowerment.

Dr N Rajmuhon Singh lauded the various activities taken up by BVP in Manipur particularly environment campaigns such as plantation drive etc.

Dr H Priyoshakhi Devi highlighted the various activities taken up by BVP for Anaemia Mukt Bharat campaign in Manipur and empowering of housewives and children.

As a part of the programme, a wheel- chair was presented to Soibam (O) Ibeni Devi (66 yrs) of LilongArapti Awang Leikai which was donated by Dr N Muhindro Singh and Ch Amita Devi Luwangsangbam.

Prakash of Toribari in Kangpokpi district, a successful broiler poultry farmer, supported by BVP Manipur Prant was also felicitated during the occasion.

The annual souvenir 'SEWA' highlighting the various activities of BVP was released.

It may be mentioned that Bharat Vikas Parishad is a voluntary organization where citizens from all walks of life join to work for the development and growth of the country in all fields of human endeavour through promoting a sense of patriotism, national unity and integrity and culminating in physically, economically and morally strong India.

BVP Manipur Prant was established in the year 1999 which has nine Shakha, namely Imphal, Bazar Mahila, Lingthoingambi Mahila, Bishnupur, Moirang, Thanga, Kangpokpi, Thoubal and Wabagai, with 266 active members.
