New Life Foundation Manipur and copartner have distributed relief materials to 25 households in Thamnapokpi village affected by the May 5 hailstorm.
The team handed over tarpaulin sheets, blankets and shawls to 25 most severely affected households out of 200 homes that suffered damages in the storm in Thamnapokpi village.
The relief extension initiative was held at the Humanitarian Relief Service Centre of New Life Foundation Manipur, Thamnapokpi in a bid to fillfill the immediate needs of the affected families while they wait for Government aid.
Speaking in this connection, Dr Lamabam Pishak, general secretary, New Life Foundation said that the Foundation began extending their humanitarian services from the time of COVID-19 pandemic.
Adding that their relief initiatives continue to this day, he shared that the Foundation has also provided assistance to conflict survivors in relief camps.
Maintaining that both the Chief Minister and Moirang Assembly Constituency MLA have also taken stock of the damage inflicted by the hailstorm, he expressed confidence that Governmental aid will reach the affected families very soon.
Meanwhile, L Sana, whose home was swept away by the hailstorm, has extended gratitude to New Life Foundation for their help.

Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) distribution of essential relief materials to the villagers of Old Samtal, Kovang, Hengkot, Phoilen, Tuitong and Sehlon, affected by violent thunderstorms on May 7, 2024 .
The devastating thunderstorms for two consecutive days have caused severe damage to shelters in surrounding villages leaving a trail of health issues and habitat destruction, said a statement by the Assam Rifles.
Acknowledging the urgent need for support, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the local authorities initiated a comprehensive relief effort to assist the affected villagers.
Assam Rifles has mobilized essential food materials and resources for repairing damaged shelters and restoring the livelihoods of affected villagers.
The relief team worked diligently ensuring an equitable distribution process, reaching out to the most vulnerable sections of the population.
